4 of 5 Jones Sibs

Sunday after church we all got together at U. Max's for lunch. Marna came in from Oregon while the other Jones brothers and Gr Jones gathered from surrounding environs. Had a wonderful meal of sweet corn, chicken and all the fixins. It was Marian's birthday to boot so enjoyed double choc cake celebrating her special day.

Choo-Choo

We left early and ate breakfast at the "Whistle Stop" restaurant. It's very train-friendly! Note the trains that run overhead. Constant whistling and chugging heard as we ate. Scooter was in heaven.

Guess what Scooter is doing, kids?

Today we left early and headed to Monon to talk to a car dealership about selling Mama Jo's car. They were very helpful but we are going to try again to advertise locally to see if we can get a better price. If family is interested, we always cut a great deal!

Friday was a busy day but we always take time out for Mama Jo to get her hair done.

Cruisin' with the Oldies 2

More pics of the cruise-in.

Cruisin' with the Oldies

Today we went to Frankfort to be with Grandma Jones at Wesley Manor. Every year we go to their Cruise In where old cars line up on the lawn and old folks, young folks and children mingle among the cars and dream of days of yore. We had a good time eating, sitting under the trees, talking and oogling the cars.

Sweet and Sour Week

I have been away from the his site for so long I might have to take remedial blog lessons to get back in the saddle. This past week has been one of the most difficult and stressful weeks in my entire life-my siblings and I started the process of moving our mom out of her house. She's been with Scooter and me for a little over a year with her house sitting empty. She can never go home because of a memory disorder (not Alzheimer). So we decided what went where and who got what and what to sell and what to throw out and what to auction and what to save for an antique dealer and on and on and on... Dreadful job and very hard on all of us to see our parents' only home of over 60 years dismantled. Don't want to go through that ever again. I don't have even one picture of the process. The one I took, I deleted.

However, I do have one small town heart-warming story to tell you that is happy. I lost our digital camera. I looked and looked for days thinking of first this scenario and that scenario of where it might be. We were at a loss. Almost a week later I got a phone call from a restaurant in a nearby little town that we had recently frequented. For Mom's birthday, my sister along with Scooter and me, went to said nearby small town instead of going into the "big" city. I took my digital with me to record a bloggable moment. I took the picture and immediately walked out leaving the camera on the table. The waitresses asked everybody who came into the restaurant if they recognized the two women who posed for the last picture recorded who were obviously sitting in their eating establishment. No one could recognize the women until the Pepsi guy walked in one day and said he knew Mom but was certain she didn't live in her home any longer. Six phone calls later with lots of detective work, produced my name. Today I called to have flowers delivered to those dear saints who took the time to find the owner of the lost digital camera. Only in a small town.
